As expected, changes took place after my husband and I married. Fortunately, my miniature dachshund, named Sidney, did not seem to mind when we moved her from the foot of our bed to a pet taxi. As long as she was in the bedroom with us, she was okay with the situation. Actually, the pet taxi became Sidney's haven because we often found her napping there.

However, one night as my husband returned from the bathroom, he tripped over the pet taxi. That incident was the event that caused us to think of our furniture idea. We knew Sidney needed her space, but we desired something that did not clutter the room or take away from its appearance. As we began to brainstorm ideas, our objective was to design a beautiful piece of furniture that would serve a person's needs and house his pet, too. One thought led to another, and soon we had a plan in mind.

When our prototype was finished, it worked perfectly! We were excited to move my outdated nightstand to the guest bedroom, but more excited to move Sidney's pet taxi to the garage. Not only did we remove the clutter and eyesore that took away from our newly decorated bedroom, but we also had a beautiful multipurpose nightstand, and Sidney had her own comfortable space where she could sleep and relax.
